First Steps Early Learning Journey is proud to be family owned and focused on providing the local community with a safe, natural, and educational environment for children to learn, grow, and play.
At First Steps, our program is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, which encompasses, extends, and enriches children’s learning from birth through to their transition to school. We offer seven rooms with a fund kindergarten program for 3 year old and 4 year old children with Qualified Early Childhood Teachers and an array of extracurricular programs to enhance children’s children.
We have large outdoor play spaces connecting children with nature each day. Our natural outdoor spaces offer children positive, hands-on and authentic experiences with nature which encourages
the development of creativity and problem-solving. Here, children help grow vegetables and herbs that become ingredients for the home-cooked lunches provided daily on-site.
Here at First Steps, we provide a curriculum based on the Holistic Approach to learning. Our indoor and outdoor environment allows our educators to encourage the children to connect with nature and the outdoors freely. This allows the children to extend and enhance their natural curiosity about the world that surrounds them.
It is our aim to develop an interconnected partnership with each family where children, families and educators work together in making decisions, contributing to the curriculum, sharing skills, attending functions and policy development.
We believe that through open communication and working as a community, we can support children identify with their culture and family and build solid foundations for lifelong learning.
